streaming Virtual desktops to thin clients

Is there a GPL something out there like xendesktop that I could run from a Linux server and deploy streaming desktops or streaming apps

Its a shot in the dark. But I have been searching the net and am not coming up with much beyond xen and many othere servers that are micro soft based

Do you mean something like the following?
http://www.ltsp.org/
I've used it in VirtualBox with a Skolelinux http://www.skolelinux.org/ server and another VM as the client and it looked decent.

Thats a interesting project.

I forgot to mention I am looking to run maybe 1 shared desktop among 4 users on windows 7 using a CAD type accelerated program if its possible. to do it with xen its too costly not enough just curious if there is a KVM or something way to do it

You're entering into territory I am not familiar with that, I'm afraid. Hopefully somebody else will know of a 3D friendly solution.

Not sure exactly what you need.

Maybe 2X.com type stuff.

I forget the other two. One was introduced in Fedora and was made to deploy desktops. Might have had to have a special card.

Another is like a remote desktop. Forget the name. Worked great in Knoppix terminal server. Was it NoMachine?? Maybe.

Also plenty of other ways I'd think.

Anyone tried this before?

does not sound like there is not much 3d support going to guess cad type software projects are not going to be that nice and not going to work
