streaming video via IEEE1394

I've got a sony TRV33E camcorder and a firewire controller.

the first thing to do is check compatibility http://www.linux1394.org/hcl.php?class_id=3 ive done it for you and found that it is not explicitly supported...next we go ahead as if it is, who knows maybe it will work anyways, if you connect your camcorder through usb then you should be able to access the memory card just like a usb drive have scsi emulation and usb mass storage in your kernel and then use mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1 hopefully that will work and is all you need to access your pictures, next firewire make sure you have firewire compiled into your kernel then grab two programs, kino and cinelerra kino is for capture and cinelerra is for editing the man and help pages will hopefully answer all of your questions from there

I've downloaded kino, but it says IEEE 1395 subsystem is not loaded

oups, root privileges were neaded
