Streaming video/audio from linux to net?

HI all,

Has anyone had any luck streaming video/audio from linux to the net?
I work Saturdays and want to use my mythtv server to capture the NFL draft and stream to me at work so I can see it live. (along with all the other football nuts in my office)

I took a quick look at GStreamer but have not looked too deeply into it.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

ps. any format is ok, xvid, divx, asf, real, mpeg1 whatever

You could try VideoLAN or Helix. Theres lots more, but there the two that cam to mind.

Helix looks promising, thanks. I just hope my slow server can produce the video, I was thinking I might just record in mpeg1 off my pvr-250 card and just link it to a web page off my server and watch it that way. :-)

I don't think you could get the bandwidth up high enough :)
