streaming IP camera in my application

I want to live stream IP camera in my application.I am using c++ in QT.
Which library should I go to stream my application.
My camera provides h264 stream,supports RTSP protocol.

I am currently trying it with 'ffmpeg',but even after 1 month I am unable to stream it.I am now thinking of 'gstreamer'. Can I stream it using gstreamer?
I only want to display the live stream in my application.

Are there other good options available??

A web search for "stream webcam video fedora" turned up several links recommending VLC.

I am able to stream in VLC,but some delay(lag) is there due to caching.
I have not been able to reduce it and is not able to live stream the content.
The current delay looks around half a second after setting the cache value to around 300.
