streamer --help

Well, my progress with recording tv stuff has come a long way and I have recently been tinkering with streamer. I've gotten simple recordings to record & playback just fine (they only playback with MPlayer for some reason), but when they play back I am missing sound. Don't know why. Following :~/streamer --help I did the following :

Code:
build mpeg movies using mjpegtools + compressed avi file:
    streamer -t 0:30 -s 352x240 -r 24 -o movie.avi -f mjpeg -F stereo
    # Didn't do this part ...
    ########################################
    # lav2wav +p movie.avi | mp2enc -o audio.mp2
    # lav2yuv +p movie.avi | mpeg2enc -o video.m1v
    # mplex audio.mp2 video.m1v -o movie.mpg
    ########################################

build mpeg movies using mjpegtools + raw, uncompressed video:
    streamer -t 0:30 -s 352x240 -r 24 -o video.yuv -O audio.wav -F stereo
    mp2enc -o audio.mp2 < audio.wav
    mpeg2enc -o video.m1v < video.yuv
    mplex audio.mp2 video.m1v -o movie.mpg
I ended up with one avi file and one mpg file (I recorded thirty seconds of the SciFi channel). For some reason when it plays back there is no sound, and I cannot get the audio.mp2 file to play, either. Other movies on my computer play sound just fine. Anybody seen/heard of this before?

RTFM, you jerk. bytesex.org was helpful ... after reading the xawtv recording page about twenty times, I realized that I needed to set recording to line in. I use gmix, and was just a matter of clicking the correct widget ....
