strange xrandr behaviour?

Hi!

I have my linux desctop with xorg 6.8.2 (xrandr option enabled in config) and latest nvidia drivers, that supports xrandr. Also, 1280x1024 17'' LCD monitor.

what should I do to correctly rotate my screen?

'xrandr -o left' gives only picture rotating, without changing resolution to fit rotated monitor. I mean after rotating resolution should be 1024x1280, but it keeps 1280x1024, so a part of my desctop is off the physical monitor.

help me plz :\
