strange problem in kppp


hi there

i tried connecting to internet in kppp using ubuntu but i got this error

Apr 14 14:40:09 localhost pppd[5630]: The remote system is required to authenticate itself
Apr 14 14:40:09 localhost pppd[5630]: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.
Apr 14 14:40:09 localhost pppd[5630]: (None of the available passwords would let it use an IP address.)

looks like it want to authenticate my ISP

but i tried the same in wvdial and it is allowing me to connect
and in kppp i am getting this message each time

Well if it works using wvdial what's the problem?

i get more options with kppp instead of wvdial

Oh I see. Must be something in the kppp configuration file. Have you tried comparing the config files for the two dialers to see if there may be an obvious difference?

i just compared the kppprc files of my slackware and ubuntu and now it works fine
