Question strange partition issue w/ XMMS

When I open up XMMS (which I have newly discovered and love, by the way) and choose play directory from the menu, I can see all the files in /mnt/windows/My Shared Folder (i.e. the files on my windows partition in the Kazaa shared folder). I tried clicking on it out of curiosity, and to my surprise, it actually worked. But there was a catch, it seems that about half (in no apparent pattern) of the files display a track length of 0:00 and do not play, while the other half plays normally. I find this odd - does anyone know why this is?
