strange kde problem


i have a laptop running ydl 2.3, and whenever i run kde, or a kde app, such as kppp, konqueror, etc... the X session will die and revert to the graphical login whenever i switch to a virtual console, what's the deal? and how do i fix this?

sounds like your having problems with one of the libraries, ....lib.so.#.

what are the errors that you are receiving when this happens?
you should be able to start up your kde from the console with kde, startkde, or just startx, depending on what your default is. you should see some errors across your screen and then they should also be put into /var/log/messages.
