strange behaviours of yahoo messenger

hi
i m using the rpm package of yahoo messenger with rh 7.3.. I am behind a proxy. i was unable to connect to yahoo previously. now i used a tunneling s/w and am able to tunnel to yahoo. but the problem is that when i refresh my frnds list it gives a warning message saying " u have been logged off" and gets logged off. afterwards when i log in it logs in normally. by the way i m doing this in kde. i dint try out in gnome. moreover in rh8 and rh9 its working properly.

can anyone help me out

thanx in advance
