Stopping the ACPI daemon.


How can I do in order to stop the ACPI daemon. I need this to check history ACPI event. Thanks for reading.

You don't say what version/distro of Linux, but usually (as root), "/etc/init.d/acpid stop"

GNU/linux kernel 2.6, slackware 12.0.

# cd /etc/init.d
# cd acpid
-bash: cd: acpid: No such file or directory.

Or
# cd /etc/init.d
# acpid stop
acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event: Device or resource busy.

# cd /etc/init.d
# acpid stop
acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event: Device or resource busy.
