Stop gnome3 asking the password

Recurring question. With gnome3 in Debian GNU/Linux amd64 wheezy I could set the system so as to launch gnome3, when I need it, from the linux prompt, wheres I was unable to set .gconf so that the password is not requested every few minutes. When at a streaming, this is offending.

Why Debian does not launch to the linux prompt by default, and gnome to free screen, is a mystery for me.

Thanks for help

If you're concerned about screensaver, then simply disable it as:-

System > Preferences > Display > Screensaver > On next windows, uncheck the "Lock screen after..." option.
