I don't know if these are similar to the programm you mentioned but here are a few suggestions:

GEPOLABO -- description only in french, and you need to click a bit: the homepage seems incomplete.

gBonds -- only for U.S. bonds it seems.

gChartman -- unmaintined but maybe it does what you want.

Hi,

I'm the author of gepolabo.
I prepare the version 0.5.0 of gepolabo for the first half of april and I am very interesting by yours comments : do you have tested gepolabo ? Do you have some functions that you want to see in this application ? What do you mean by "click a bit" ?
If I can answer to your comments, I will code them in gepolabo : I always listen positive remarks.

I can say you that the next version :
- rewriting of interface
- will be availble in french and english
- can export quotes in csv
- download quotes from all yahoo sites (I do some modification for someone who want the south african markets)
- have few plugins of analyse (RSI, Bollinger, moving average)
- have more plugins of selection (selection of quotes by value of RSI, crossing of averages...)

I 'm looking for some one who help me to translate the documentation and the web site (but, I repeat me, interface of gepolabo will be available in english).

Best regards,
Vincent DEROO

It would be very good if you could make adjustable moving averages with weights, various oscillators. Consider to implement some basic scripting in future. The niche for such programs is rather empty under linux. Keep it up.
Good Luck.

Hello,

I'm happy to inform you that the release 0.5.0 of GEPOLABO is available, with a lot of changes :
- new interface
- new plugins (analysis and selection)
- new quotes providers (Yahoo : European, USA, Brazil, India...)
- export of analysis in HTML or CSV

The new URL of the site is : http://home.gna.org/gepolabo/

That looks great!!! I've been looking for some good stock analysis tools for ages, but never found anything that looks even this good.

Currently I'm keeping my eyes on a Java program called 'Merchant of Venice'. However, I'm finding the way it presents things to not be quite the same way as I think about them.

Though requiring the gnome 2.6 libraries might take a bit of work on Vector Linux. I'll give it a shot over the weekend.

Daniel
