StickyNotes problem

I installed StickyNotes on my RedHat 9 (Gnome). The installation was successful, but when I add the applet to (any) panel, the panel doesn't show the notes icon, stops responding and 'top' shows that stickynotes_applet is eating up 80-95% of CPU and it doesn't get better.
I tried this on two different machines w/RH9, one of them freshly installed and it was the same. I also tried different versions of StickyNotes (stickynotes_applet-1.2.3-0 .dag.rh90.i386.rpm and other).
Anybody can help?
