startup applications??

Hey,

How can I make my KDE start some apps whenever I login?? Is there a certain folder for the job like in w****** (im not using that word anymore)? Basically I want to launch kmess and some superkaramba themes.

Thanks for the help!

well as of the startup things, i am going to refer you to here:
short article on startup apps

as of the superkaramba thing, i have not yet successfully set this up to start automatically, although it is possible....whenever i tried to set this up in the .xinitrc, if i had it before the exec gnome-session then superkaramba would be the only thing to launch, if i had it after exec gnome session then gnome would start and karamba wouldn't, so i got fed up and just wrong a little script and put a icon link to it on my desktop so when i double click it, the 4 karamba themes i use will load...

I'm using KDE and to start superkaramba themes at startup i just create a "link to application" an my home folder (/home/myname/.kde/Autostart/).

To do this just go to that folder, right click on the screen select "new link to application" and go to the "execute" tab and type a line somthing like (this is how I start LQ theme):

/usr/bin/superkaramba /home/myname/.superkaramba/LQ/lq.theme

So the syntax is: /path/to/superkaramba /path/to/theme

Its easy. Place a shortcut to whatever you want to start in the /user/Kde/Autostart folder. make sure enable view hidden files or you wont be able to find it.
