starting X with numlock

Hi kids

does anyone know how to make sure X starts with numlock turned on, I have a french keyboard and you need the numbers.
I have tried to change the 'options' bit in the keyboard section of XF86Config but cannot find the documentation on my system, or is it somewhere in one of those .X.soething files ?

thanks, derek

Yo Lady,

If you run Gnome or KDE they have respective
settings (for all I know).

For other WM's (or WM independent) look at

I do use gnome, it does have settings, but not numlock as far as I can see. I'm looking for a more general solution that would work with both gnome and for instance MWM
