Starting vsftpd on RH 2.1 AS
Read many posts for configuring vsftpd 1.2.1 and have questions re: starting and stopping.
First, I'm running RedHat 2.1 AS and vsftpd 1.2.1 Reviewing the URL http://www.siliconvalleyccie.com/lin...ftp-server.htm I found good info, but wonder, how do I start the ftp server? The reason, when I attempt ftp hostname I receive a connection refused message. Thanks, Rich |
Still trying to get vsftpd running.
When I run nmap -v I don't see ftp listed meaning the port's not listening. Now, the question, how do I start vsftpd? The file, /usr/local/vsftpd-1.2.1/xinetd.d/vsftpd contains the following lines: disable=no Any suggestions? I thought of disabling the firewall, but not certain how so I can verify the port's not blocked. I'm kinda new to Linux and lost at the moment. Read many posts, but no resolution. Thanks |
