starting graphic apps from ssh
I can't remember how to do this.... If I use ssh to access my server, how can I start a graphic app? It dies because it doesn't know what display to use. I remember doing this once ages ago and think maybe xhost and/or DISPLAY is involved but can't remember and, so far, can't find the information on the net.

Any help is appreciated.

On the host make sure X11Forwarding is set to yes in sshd_config, when you connect from the client make sure you have an X server running and supply an "-X" arguement to your ssh command

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I wasn't clear. I don't want to display the app on the client. I just want to start it up and have it run (and display) on the server.

I have a problem with one app that sometimes crashes itself. When I am logged in via ssh I can see if it is up or down. If it is down, I want to restart it, but I don't need to display it locally.
