Star Office vs. Open Office installation Q
I downloaded the star office 6 beta binary to my home directory, but cannot run it (even as root) I'm using Debian 2.2r3 with Gnome. I've tried $ ./ so-6_0bin.... ..bin and got an error saying "./ is not a directory" running it without the slash seems to hang my terminal though it could be doing something..
running it from the gnome menu (whether logged in as a user or as root) gives me a permissions denied error. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong? Also, before I go ahead and install (assuming I can) I'm interested if there's a reason to use Open Office instead? Thanks! |
chmod +x so-6_0-beta-bin-linux-en.bin
./so-6_0-beta-bin-linux-en.bin ;- ) |
thanks
that worked! Thanks.
When I run it from the gnome menu (as root) I get an error saying that a library couldn't be registered. Anyone know what may be happening? |
