SSH Problem


Hello Sir,

I am using Redhat Linux 9.0, and Windows 2000 Professional Machine.

In Windows 2000 Professional Machine i am using putty software.

How to connect GUI Mode in Linux using SSH.

Whether if any cofiguration changes in Redhat Linux Server or putty software.

That means

Windows 2000 --> Putty --> Linux 9.0 Graphice Mode.

I want to access remote login in Linux Server (GUI Mode) using SSH (Putty Software)

Please Help me

Note that you need to have a X server installed on your windows machine (exceed, XWin32, Cygwin - Xfree86)

If you want to control the windows desktop from the linux machine, you could install vnc on both. Perhaps krdc will connect directly to windows remote desktop but I don't know for sure. Also, If you have the home edition, you can only do it one way using windows.
I don't know how secure this would be however.

Hello Sir

In Putty Software connect linux Machine.

Successfully Connected. But Startx doesnot working Proberly.

The following Message is displayed.

If you want to have an x session or an individual window running on the Linux system but displayed on the windows system, you need an X server running in windows. Such as X-win or Cygwin-x. You can install TightVNC on windows if you want to share the kde desktop. The first option is using an x-terminal in windows, and is a new display. The second option is running the terminal on the Linux machine and sharing it to the Windows machine.
