squirrelmail problem in redhat 9
 

Hi!
I am relatively new to linux, but I have managed to get an email server configured and connected to the inetrnet. (whew)!

I am using redhat linux 9 (shrike), and keep getting the following error message when I log into squirrelmail:

"ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: SUBSCRIBE "/var/mail/Sent"
Reason Given: SUBSCRIBE failed: Can't append to subscription database"

Could someone please give me some pointers about how to configure squirrelmail/uw-imap so that I can add and delete folders?

P.S. I have not had much luck getting the administrator plugin to work with squirrelmail, either. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I think that folders can be created through the admin plugin?)

I am just not able to configure sendmail in redhat 9.0 as no one is able to send me mail. It will be kind of you if u can tell me the erason and if possible can send me the sendmail.cf file. My email address is sanjib@bic.boseinst.ernet.in

I don't use sendmail, but have opted for a more secure smtp server. I can't tell you which one, for security reasons. I believe that there are many books on sendmail configuration, as well as many example configuration files and help pages available on the inetrnet. Try www.senmail.org to start. :-)
