Hi, I run Squid 2.5.STABLE5 with SquidGuard 1.2.0, and it takes forever to compile blacklists, while top shows that CPUs are over 99% idle...

When I tried to compile a single file:

squidGuard -C /var/spool/squidGuard/db/new_blacklists/desktopsillies/domains

took over 30 minutes to compile the 10 KB file, and although the .db file was eventually generated, SquidGuard did not exit, I grew impatient and stoped it.

Compiling all lists is taking over an hour now, and there is no new .db file generated so far...

Has anyone experienced this?

My error - I had a new line character in the middle of one of the ACLs, and learned about it from
/usr/squidGuard/log/squidGuard.log

it was "going into emergency mode", whatever it means.

In addition I had to specify the location of the squidguard.conf file (not at the standard location) even if not using the "-C all" option, but specifying the file to be compiled.

Now it takes just a minute to compile with "squidGuard -C all -c /etc/squid/squidguard.new.conf"
