Squid-Compile...

Dear Friends, I'm not getting the concept of compiling squid. Actually when I gone through the config file I saw the dns parameters having the line "This option is only available if Squid is rebuilt with the --disable-internal-dns option." what's this compile squid. how to do this. Thank you,
Hari.

Questions regarding the compilation of a certain program don't belong in Security.

This thread is being moved to Software in order for it to get more adequate exposure.

Do you have a good reason for compiling instead of using a binary?
