Spamassassin working too well!
 

We recently installed SA v2.55 and then we had a problem... we stopped getting spam.. but not only that, everyone stopped getting spam. The thing is we got at least a good 30 vpopmail set up and I only threw spam assassin into one or two of them. But everyone, statewide reports that they are getting ridiculously less spam.

Can I wager that this is DNS blocking going on globally here?

If so, how would I go about enabling this for those subscribed, and not touch the other ones.

What I'm looking for is to do all the SA stuff on specified accounts, but it's very important that the rest of the domains are completely unaffected. Doable?

One of the best discussions of how to do this, and it is easy to do, is here.

The only change I would make to the IBM discussion is to look at using spamd/spamc rather than invoking spamassassin directly for each piece of e-mail. As the article suggests, I use sendmail coupled with procmail and spamassassin. Spamassassin only remarks the mail as spam (adds it to the subject line) and then I use my e-mail client (mozilla) the divert the spam to a spam folder for later perusal.

In the local.cf file or the user-prefs.cf file an entry like

whitelist_to Iluvspam@aol.com

or whitelist_from Iluvspam@msn.com

will turn off filtering either to or from the domain listed. Spamassassin makes email useful again. Woohoo!
