Spam filter to external mail filter

I am having to draw up a list of options for improving our spam filtering at our offices, from black box with the firewall, through to filtering on the mail server itself,.

What I am wondering is if, and how, the following can be done using Linux.

First some background:
The mail server is Lotus Domino on Windows NT. Cannot change this.
Mail is routed to the mail server via the firewall. This means that the IP address that email goes through is possibly flexible.

Now the question:
What I want to do is introduce a Linux box between the Firewall and the Notes server. This box will scan and quarentine the spam and pass the clean mail to the Notes server for delivery. This should be fairly easy right?
However, to reduce the admin load, I would like to be able to make each users filtered spam (~150 users) available to them - ideally through a web page based management system. That way if anything goes astray they can check there first. I don't really want to forward the filtered spam onto Notes as it ain't much cop at filtering at a user level.

Is this doable? Is any of this out there now, or would I need to bolt things together? How easy would it be to create users on the fly depending recipients??

Any other comments?

Cheers

Dan

You could just upgrade to Domino 6.5.1 and use the spam filtering options?
