Anyone had problem or having experience with soundcarcd? mine doesn't seem to work (i run FC4 on a an hp laptop) Any special program to run? smthng to unlock???

I'm no pro so I can't be of that much help. However, when you go through the fedora install, there should have been a soundcard screen wherre it plays a test sound for you. Try from the gnome menu...

'Desktop' -> 'System Settings' -> 'Soundcard Detection'

See if you can find out more information and post it so people will know what type of problem you are actually having. The more specific you can be the better.

I skipped that step, told fedora the soundcard is ok and moved on.

I m having siilar problems in fc4 using a dell laptop, and had the same problems in FC3.
Not trying to be smart here but have you checked alsamixer to ensure the master volume hasnt been muted? I thing it starts muted by default in Fedora when you install.
