soundcard problems

I have troubles with my soundcard.

I first install OSS, then I mounted emu10k1 emularor and it worked, but whith not the same great sound as in windows.

Then, after a few reboots it finnaly worked excellent, and I got so happy .

But now, after another reboot it stoped work the same good way, now the sound sucks .

What can be wrong ?

My system is:

P3 733 MHz
SB Live Value

And as I said, I use OSS and emu10k1. And plays with xmms. But the sound sucks in other mp3 players to.

Can somebody help me ?

Tnx

go into one of the mixers and turn down your pcm just a little bit this will make it less loud but as long as you arent trying to use your speakers at full volume you can just turn them up a little higher, if it is set too high then it will cause distortions and all sorts of nasty things in your sound
