sound under quake

I have a problem with sound while playing quake 2. Here is what hapens when I play quake 2

------- sound initialization -------
/dev/dsp: Invalid argument
SNDDMA_Init: Could not mmap /dev/dsp.

I also have general sound problems. See this

Could someone help me ?
