Question 1:
Which mixer does XMMS use? Right now I'm using XFCE, and my volume control on my toolbar is at "alsamixer"
However, when I reboot, I must open XMMS to up my down'd volume. Weird huh?
I was wondering how I can either keep the volume up at all times, or control the volume from my launchbar.
Question 2:
Is there a way to have multiple programs using sound? I notice if I'm playing music, nothing else will make sound. I know on Windows there can be multiple programs using sound at once (music + games) which sometimes is annoying however, but why not in Linux?
Is it anything to do with OSS? Can using ALSA drivers help? I've read up on some threads on how sound works in Linux, but I forget.
