Sound output device help.

I use Linux MInt 13, my sound for some reason stopped working so I looked around and tryed to find the problem and I did, but I don't know how to fix it. Under "Sound Preferences" under output there shound be the default device called "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" but it somehow got replaced by this device called "Dummy Output". Is there any way to replace it or uninstall and then reinstall the sound or what?

Here's a screenshot.

You have no sound modules loaded, despite having an intel HDA audio chipset. What does 'modinfo snd_hda_intel' return?

I have Linux Mint 13 install as a 32 bit and 64 bit OS on my laptop. This problem is with the 32 bit OS. The sound worked then all of the sudden stopped working, but on the 64 bit sound still works fine.

I fixed it by running "sudo aptitude --purge reinstall linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils linux-image-`uname -r` linux-ubuntu-modules-`uname -r` libasound2" in the terminal.
