Sound level moniter

Hey everyone,

I just recently switched from Mandrake to Gentoo linux. When I was in Mandrake I had a program that allowed me to check the recording level and peaks. In my gentoo world I don't have that program, and don't know what the program was called.

I just need to know what the name of the program was. Anybody who's running mandrake 10.0 or higher, you should have it in the main menu under multimedia.

Could someone be so kind as to tell me what the name of the program was?

Thanks

I'm not really looking for a mixer at all. This program that I was using just showed me the recording levels. I would get the two meters that are green with the red at the end.

All this program would do was let me know if the source I was recording from was too loud or not loud enough. I would then go into my recording program (I'm using Audacity) and just record into wave files.

I guess I should change the title to get Mandrake users to read this and just tell me what the program is.
