sound for Ubuntu Chroot?

Anybody running Ubuntu with sound from a chroot? I thought I'd use Ubuntu in a chroot for the AmazonMp3 package. No sound. Apparently Ubuntu doesn't believe in Alsaconf. Any idea where the alsa config file is kept?

I set up a 32 bit Etch chroot instead and it had sound no problem.
