Sound editing software
Hi all,
I have been poking around google looking for some interesting sound editing software for my box. When i was in windows land, i used a piece of software called cool edit pro. great stuff. what i was looking for was something possibly similar to this. i wanted to be able to record a track of live music being played, and to mix/multitrack record other tracks on top of it. cool edit allowed me to record multiple tracks in real time, and to edit each of the individual tracks once i had them layed down on disk. any thoughts from anyone on a good piece of software, or collection of software that might produce the same results? mostly its just me, a guitar, and a few other bits and pieces. TIA for any help! |

Audacity is nice. If you're looking for a harddisk recording environment, Ardour is nice, albeit it still is somewhat lacking in features and stability. Håkan |
Excellent. I have used Audacity before, so I can vouch for it. Shame really because I haven't found anything that even comes close to rivaling cool edit pro :(
I will try Ardour, see how that goes :) |
Rezound and Glame are also useful.

Thanks guys! I'll give audacity and ardour a go. hopefully things will go along well. I dont really need much other than the multitracking, and hopefully full duplex recording.
