Sound Card Problems...
Okay, I'm not that used to linux quite yet but I'm getting there little by little...my question is: In Mandrake(flame me if you want) 7.2 my sound worked fine. In 8.1 I don't have sound anymore. It detects my sound card just fine but it doesn't actually give me any playback when I run any type of media. I've tried everything I can think of to get it functioning but I seem to have found myself at a loss :( Any suggestions?

If your are using the GUI, like Gnome for instance, and this one kind of threw me as silly... Under Multimedia, start the sound mixer and everything is muted by default... fun eh?
This is of course if your proper sound modules appear in a terminal under lsmod. Wow, I just recomended a GUI way of config'ing something. I must be slipping. Cheers, Finegan |
Thanks :D Got it working now XD
