Something Simpler than Tab Window Manager?

I don't like the feel of TWM at all, but I'm looking for something which will allow me to alternate between multiple terminals (perhaps just using 2 toggle forward/backward keys?). On this particular box I have Slackware 10.1, 32 MBs ram, and a 1 MB on-board AGP.

Exactly what I needed.

I thought about it though, and decided I would like (if possible) just a simple way to browse my file system, something vaguely like My Computer in Windows. Does anyone wanna help keep me from trying 37 times to find my favorite and share theirs?

My favourite way to browse the filesystem is dired mode in EMACS

Let us know what you finally decide!

EDIT: I did a count and there are actually 74 wm's on the linuxlinks page.

My prefered window managers for the situation you describe are Matchbox and Ion.

(Note about Ion: default key bindings are... not very good IMO, but you can change them)

Yves.
