Something Like Getright

I'm sure you dual booters have getright installed (download manager)...well i was hoping that you may know something like this........or a way to do this.....

This is what i want to do:
I use to download MASSIVE files on windows.....my internet connection drops out after 6hours though, and since my 56k modem isn't recognised on linux i have to use my 33.6k modem...well getright had their own dialup thing built in which re-connected once disconnected...so theres the 6hour limit taken care of....and with getright if you got disconncted and you reconnected the downloads would resume again...

I was hoping i could find something like this...i have tried downloader for x, but have not succesfully installed it yet....i want to do this because i'm going to Queensland for a week and i might leave some things downloading...

Any ideas ?

Garry

The latest KDE Betas have a download manager that works pretty much like GetRight.

Well as far as keeping the connection alive or anything like that, I don't really know for sure. But wget does support resuming, and will try over and over again until it gets a connection. So if you got dc'd and then found a way to reconnect fairly quickly, wget would simply resume once your connection was back up.

Cool

d4x if I am not mistaken - downloade for X, just lemme find the link, some russian dude invented it. Ah, here it is http://www.bilug.linux.it/rpm2html/b...C1-1.i386.html
I can't seem to access the homepage for it though. So if you are using rpms the link I provided is sufficient. The command to start it is nt.

Well why not write a script which runs in a loop and connects to the internet if wget failed and the file size is incorrect? Better than nothing...
