Alright, i just had the same error when it loaded... so i can give details:

What it said was:

ERROR LOADING -"OAFIIP:Gnome_SystemTray Applet"
Details:unkown CORBA exception id: 'IDL : omg.org/CORBA/inv_objref: Id'

Anyone have an idea?

I've recieved a similar error but I can't think of why it would be connected to the cause that I've tracked down. When I load the orinoco_pci drivers for my NETGEAR PCI card before I start X, I get three messages like:

OAFIID: GNOME_PagerApplet
Details: Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL omg/CORBA/INV_OBJREF 1.0'

One for the pager, one for the Application bar and one for the clock.

If I start X, then load the wireless drivers I don't get this messages.

Maybe this is related to your problem?
