Some problems with Slackware.

I have Slackware 10.1 and kernel 2.6.13.1 with a bootsplash patch installed. Compilation and booting works fine but when I try to add a bootsplash to the initrd (Which I made with mkinitrd, Not needed except for bootsplash) it brakes and I can't mount it anymore.
I get "ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: Device or resource busy" when trying to mount it and in boot time it just says that the ramdisk is "not a real ramdisk"
Where in initrd should I place the bootsplashes? (Or do I have to use the splash command?)

And another problem I have is that the fglrx drivers don't work properly. It compiles fine and loads but when I run "fgl_glxgears" I get alot of
Code:
_FGLTexMgrCreateObject: __FGLTexMgrSHMmalloc failed!!!
fglX11AllocateManagedSurface: __FGLTexMgrCreateObject failed!!
FGLTexMgr: open of shared memory object failed (Function not implemented)
And the gears is really slow. The normal glxgears works fine with over 2000fps though.

And one more thing. Arts doesn't work without esound. It complains about esd.so.0 Arts isn't supposed to use esound is it? I thought arts and esound was pretty much the same thing but arts was for KDE and Esound for GNOME. (I use KDE BTW)

Looks like you compiled a new kernel yourself for your OS. After re-compiling your kernel, you'll need to reinstall ALSA as well. I am using a 2.4 kernel and I have not messed with 2.6 kernels so this may not help you. But, every time I install a new 2.4 kernel, to get sound working again, I go through this process (I have a sound-blaster live):
Code:
cd alsa-driver-xxx
./configure --with-cards=emu10k1 --with-sequencer=yes;make;make install

cd alsa-lib-xxx
./configure;make;make install

cd alsa-utils-xxx
./configure;make;make install

modprobe snd-emu10k1;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe snd-seq-oss
You'll need to download the appropriate alsa tarballs and untar them before going through that process. Just go to alsa-project.org and download them from their front page.
