Software that avoids RAM corruption

Hi,

The problem: I have a 512 MB DDR RAM stick which is corrupted only on a small area (~4kB) at a well known location. Otherwise, the RAM works flawlessly. (Results were acquired with memtest86.)

The question: Is there a linux utility that can be configured to take up (load itself into) special memory addresses (to effectively prevent other programmes to use that corrupted memory)?

Having such a programme that would prevent other programmes to read and write from that corrupted memory location would save me a lot of trouble.

Thank you for all your help in ahead!

Best regards

Matt

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I would bre ready to (at least try) write a kernel module if no such programmer already exists.

There is no such program as each program runs through the kernel(or should I say that each program is run by the kernel). For that reason you can pass the kernel parameters to restrict the kernel from accessing the full memory.
(do some search through google for that one)

rch, I have used some of the words from your reply in google with this result:

(I cannot post URLs, since I haven't made 5 posts yet...)

I will take a deeper look into that.

Thank you for the answer.

Best regards
