i know this is probably a stupid question but were are some good sites for linux downloads?

SourceForge - Hosts a boat load of OSS projects.
Freshmeat - Good OSS software search site.
RPMFind - Good place to find RPM's for distributions that use RPM as there basis for package management.

that was a stupid question cuz i forgot to clarify, linux software downloads. Me and my ignorance....

The sites I mentioned have extensive amounts of linux software. If you can find something between sourceforge and freshmeat it might not exist
