software raid settings?

I've set up RedHat 9 on a p3-550 machine with 4x160 gb hdds (/boot as raid 1 and /, /pub as raid5)

However the large /pub partition is wasting very much space, from df:
/dev/md1, 425G, 173G, 232G,43%, /pub
- Thats 20G wasted space!

here is the raidtab for the md1 device
raiddev /dev/md1
raid-level 5
nr-raid-disks 4
chunk-size 64k
persistent-superblock 1
nr-spare-disks 0

If anyone has some input on what chunk-size and possibly filesystem i should change to to minimize the wasted space I'd appreciate it. (The machine is a home file server, storing divxs and some mp3s - so i dont really need a "secure" file system with permissions etc on the /pub partition)

any input would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
Bjorn
