software raid rebuild

I have two hard drive , they are installed software raid-1 , Now , one of hard drive failure then I replace it with a new one , but I found that they didn't rebuild , can advise how to force it rebuild and how to form it as raid-1 again ? thx

Partition the new drive identical to the old then use raidhotadd::
