Hardware redundancy is no substitute for software backup.

Why isn't RAID 1 on that list too? I went to the BAARF site & it all looked 5 old ==out-of-date, & very 1-sided -- the only obviously pro-RAID paper cited is apparently 20 yrs. old (http://www.miracleas.com/BAARF/Patterson88.pdf)
