I need a software for linux something like deepfreeze for windows

Many times, i do experiments with linux & so does mistakes in the os.

Deep freeze is a good software to prevent harm to the system & to the data.

Is there any software something like this ?

Do you? You could just make backups. Virtualization also allows you to revert the guest back to a previous state.

It actually does not prevent anything but allows you to revert the system back to a previous state.

i do this all the time with my fedora-14 live-usb. i used dd to make and archive image of it exactly the way i like (after yum install-ing a few packages). and then i go to town. when it becomes unbootable i do: dd if=fc-14-20120601.iso.bak of=dev/sdx and then reboot.
