Software installation woes
I have had difficulties in updating Samba and Mozilla using urpmi. It seems to be complaing about unresolved dependencies, yet when I check the packages for which it asks (rpm -q), it reports that they are there. Am I doing something wrong? Here is the output from my attempt to upgrade Samba from 1.3.3a to 1.5:
[root@localhost /]# urpmi samba
unable to take medium "Updates for Mandrake Linux 8.2 (ftp1u)" into account as no list file [/var/lib/urpmi/list.Updates for Mandrake Linux 8.2 (ftp1u)] exists
To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed (28 MB):
samba-client-2.2.5-2mdk.i586 samba-2.2.5-10.i386 samba-server-2.2.5-2mdk.i586 libacl1-2.0.0-1mdk.i586 samba-common-2.2.5-2mdk.i586 samba-winbind-2.2.5-2mdk.i586 libattr1-2.0.1-1mdk.i586 samba-swat-2.2.5-2mdk.i586 samba-doc-2.2.5-2mdk.i586
Is it OK? (Y/n) y
installing /home/james/rpmdownload/samba-2.2.5-10.i386.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-client-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-server-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS2/libacl1-2.0.0-1mdk.i586.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-common-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-winbind-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS2/libattr1-2.0.1-1mdk.i586.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-swat-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm /var/cache/urpmi/rpms/samba-doc-2.2.5-2mdk.i586.rpm
Installation failed, some files are missing.
You may want to update your urpmi database
The Samba FTP site is added to the urpm list (pointed to the hdlist.cz file, correctly). Can anyone help me? I should like to have the latest versions of Samba and Mozilla...
