software icons
I got sorta pissed at having to use some stupid icons included with slack 9...well not stupid, but ill-suited so I found out where the icons are generally kept (sourcedir/usr/local/share/pixmaps generally works...) Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way to import these xpms into the icon choose thingamajig in KDE 3...then I'll write a script to automatically import upon installation...any idea of how to do such a thing...? Perhaps just to have the software's icons auto-used...?

I'm not sure if I understand your situation exactly but I know there is a 'Browse' option in the "icon choose thingamajig". If the icons are installed somewhere other then the default directories for icons then you can simply navigate to where they are located.

bwahahaha. you answered my question indirectly...I know there's a browse button, but I was wondering how to get them to automatically come up in the icon display below that...the answer is: put them into default icon directory. duh! I must've been very tired (exams are here).
Anyway, thanks alot! |
