Software from nowhere, what is it?

When I was working on line today I noticed a new icon in the status bar! i clicked on it and it is called "Klipper, a clipboard tool". I haven't downloaded anything! What is this program, anyone know? Paranoid after my MS days!

Klipper is a clipboard tool for your kde Gui. Do not worry, I personally have not used mine but it is there waiting.

I believe klipper is part of the KDE base package sets. It may have been there all along, but you only activated it when you activated some other kde application.
