Does linux have any software whch can control the speed of my DVD drive. It's very noisey sometimes when it spins up the disc. Sounds like a lawn mower.
You should look at installing "setcd". I have never used it personally, but it has the ability to set the CD read speed and other things. The man page for it is here: http://linux.com.hk/PenguinWeb/manpa...n=1&name=setcd
