.so files


how do you install a .so file, its a tls libary

Its usually just extracted and placed in the proper directory so its found, etc.

i extracted it to /opt/tls as the helpfile suggested it should be - but it isn't installed according to the app

however when i type

./tlslib.50.so

i get segmation fault displayed?

You don't run .so files.. they're lib files.. and if you placed in /opt/tls, is that a place in which your libs are search upon? Check your /etc/ld.so.conf file and make sure that path is included there, if not add it and then run ldconfig to update the lib database, etc.
