snail mail service not starting? And how do I uninstall samsung printer drivers?

Hi all,

I had a few problems I hope someone will be able to help me with. I'll just get to em.

1. Upon startup, it's saying snail mail is failing to start, it says LINE XXX in the config, I haven't checked it out yet, but I was mainly wondering what the signifigance of snail mail is, I don't recall installing it.

2. I downloaded drivers from the samsung website for my printer. The install process was running a installer (script i think?) This is the command I put in
Code:
./install.sh
Anyways, I want to uninstall it, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks in advance guys, you're great help all the time.

edit:

3. In /opt/Samsung, there's some ppd files, ppd the "driver" file for my printer?

I have a ML-2010 and I'm running FC5.

.ppd is indeed a "postscript printer description" File. that file tells the print server the capabilities of your printer.. Page sizes, Number of drawers, printer resolution, etc.. etc.. basically a text file that contains a bunch of settings for your printer.

you can read about the ppd files here. with links to the file specifications.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PostScr...er_Description

as long as you don't have a printer defined using those drivers you should be able to safely delete the .ppd files or even the entire samsung directory.

Are you sure it says snail mail ? That's typically slang for the Postal Service, not a Linux mail service..
I think sendmail is the default mail server for FC5..

You may want to verify the error message, write it down and post it here exactly as it appears on your system.
